MMRDA has announced no date. A trade press estimate of July 2025 puts the opening no sooner than the third quarter of 2027; the site counts down to the end of 2027. An earlier report's December 2026 will not be met: the short mined tunnels had not started by August 2026, and an airport height limit holds up part of the work.

- What is the Line 7A airport height problem?
Near Airport Colony, the elevated stretch and the ramp are lower than the overhead wire needs: the airport's permits of 2024 set heights up to about 2.4 m below the design. Work in that area stopped, and up to about Rs 250 crore of work may have to be rebuilt. MMRDA blamed its general consultant for not flagging the limit. On 8 Oct 2026 the Airports Authority of India was still making its final assessment. All as reported.
